Taccia Nibs
Permalink Closed

My question is how fine (wide) a Taccia F nib actually is. I have a stock Pelikan F which I bought from Richard Binder, which is a bit broad for my taste. I love my Pilot F nibs, and even my Pilot 78G M nib is nearly as fine as my Pelikan F.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Donnie

Hey there Donnie, Glad to see you again.

I wish I could be of some real help on this but I've not yet owned a Taccia of any flavor, so I can't say for 100%. But I can paint with a wide brush & offer up a tid bit of general information or 2.

Using "US" nib sizes as a base, German/Pelikan nibs tend to run about a nib size larger/wider than US & tend to be on the wetter side of things.

Japanese/Asain nibs tend to run a full to 1/2 size finer than US nibs do and from my experiences are on the dry writing end of things.

Like I said painting with a wide brush here & thgere are of course exceptions to every rule out there like my Pilot VP with the fire hose broad nib that I just love to death.

Wish I could be more help.
Dennis

I had one Taccia (which I've sold), a Staccato. Its fine nib was within the realm of what I call fine and was not at all dry, certainly finer than a Bexley fine, which seems like a medium to me.
