1933 Dealer's Mini-Catalog
Permalink Closed

Our First Sheaffer Catalog will be a scarce (aren't they all?) Dealer's catalog from October of 1933.  It fills a serious void in the understanding of many collectors.

Next is a 1933 desk set insert also dated October of 1933.  Probably included in the previous mailing.

This is the eroneously named "Balance Catalog from 1930. This is the premier catalog of its type and era.

I never realized that Sheaffer had so many different desk set bases. I was never really into desk pens and have a mere two in my collection, a vintage mandarin yellow Parker desk pen and a Sheaffer Snorkel.

Well Jack, there are a ba-zillion more, many of which I'll be posting in catalog pics.  I admit that bases aren't my thing but they were once the bread and butter of companies like Sheaffer.  Stay tuned. . .

Let's put up a Dealer oversized poster from September 1935.  Sheaffer sent these out quarterly to their dealers to hang up in their shops.  One side was to be seen outside the window and the other inside.  It also served to remind the dealer that Sheaffer would be placing the color side of it in a national magazine - so hurry up and order lots of pens from the factory!

And then the dealer Poster from one year later in September of 1936.

Here we have a neat late 1918 Sheaffer catalog that even the PCA doesn't have
in their library.

1983 Sheaffer Catalog
Permalink Closed

I picked this up on eBay last year.  These are sort of Sheaffer's idea of a Catalog dating from the late 1978 to 1984 for the latest pieces.  As Sheaffer added pens to their fold they would send out a new sheet or two and direct the dealers to delete whatever was no longer available.  I'm calling it a 1983 Sheaffer Catalog because the greatest number of pages are dated then.

ps - I'm experimenting with a bit lower res but a bit larger physical size for the sake of readibility.

The Pen Collectors of America library may have one, but you have to be a member to have access.

Thanks DWL.
The PCA does not have this catalogue. I am interested on knowing if the Lifetime line of that year included a ballpoint. The Penhero website refehas a lot of information about the 1963 Sheaffer Lifetime, but there is not mention of a ballpoint. Viewing the catalogue would probably answer the question.
Thank you,
Victor.

Hmmm. I'm at a loss where one can be found. I's start prowling the ad's in ebay and see if perhaps you get lucky. Dont forget to check the completed auctions as well.

Good luck in the search. I'll let you know if I bump across anything down the line.

Victor,

I would suggest trying www.penhero.com as well! Jim is an excellent source for all things Sheaffer (Sheaffer forum mod over at FPN)!

Regards,

Frank
