Louis Marx / Charmore "Goodmarx" and "Penmarx" early ballpoints

Does anyone have any real information on these pens? I've learned that Charmore was WWII-era an offshoot of the Louis Marx toy company, which made similar and different toy lines from the parent company, plus possibly cosmetics, and apparently character pins (with an I) for, among others, the Walt Disney Company. I have yet to find any information on their pens apart from two advertisements (one each for Goodmarx and Penmarx) from 1947.

I would be grateful for any more information about these pens.

Wow Mike! Great find, and back-story!

Yes, Marx was a big toy company! They did a lot of cars/trains/etc.. (Tinplate first, then plastic later)!
Nice to see that two of my hobbies can be satisfied at once!!

Thanks, Frank! A little experimentation reveals that Cross refills will fit beautifully in these pens, at least as far as length; the tip is a tight fit through the hole in the tip of the barrel, so a *little* enlargement of the hole is probably in order to avoid cracking the plastic. This modification won't affect the fit of the original refill, as it screws into place.
