What a monster: 235 mm long, made of either sintered metal or ceramic of some sort. I have been so far unable to learn anything about this pen, though the company seems to have registered the "Adam & Eve" name in 2004.

The refill looks like a shortened Bic Cristal refill, but there are threads in the end of the barrel ...

Mike,

Nice pen. Looks like a biggggg BIC Crystal! (The old Accountant model, that is...)

You already found their corporate web pages, right? http://www.tachikichi.co.jp/english/big/big@.html

They may have had this made by a Japanese promotional pen company, instead of making it themselves. You might try to contact Tachikichi by email with this photo. Tell them that you have acquired this pen, and ask them directly for the story about it.

Worst they can do is ignore your email. Or not understand a word of what you ask...  frustrated.gif

If they made it themselves, I'd guess it is a form of ceramic, since that is their stock in trade. Just my uninformed opinion.

Way ahead of you, no reply so far.

The barrel is a cylinder with two flats; it's pretty cool to the touch, more so than I expect from ceramics, and the thing weighs in at 3.0 ounces/34 grams.

Where did you find this monster? Is the refill still good?

From the picture, it looks like a precisely molded piece. It looks symmetrical and machine-made almost.

It will be very interesting to hear what Tachikichi has to say about this, if they get back to you.

It was listed several times on eBay, at diminishing prices. I got tired of seeing it in my search results and bought it.

Still no reply. I'm pretty much certain it's machined metal. The refill in it is not working, but it is definitely a shortened Bic Cristal or Stic refill, so probably not the original refill. I'll have to work out what the thread size in the end of the barrel is and maybe turn a nose cone to fit, then I'll have more refill options.

Or maybe fit a MP twist mechanism ...

"World's largest functional mechanical pencil..." sounds nice off the tongue.
