Edison Collier Review!
Permalink Closed

I have been admiring Brian Grey's Edison pens for a few years now. I have seen his pens in person at pen shows the past few years. I was always impressed with the quality and variety Brain offers in his models.

Back at the DC Pen Show last August, I saw the new Collier model. The production model in the Antique Marble material just jumps right out at you!

I finally took the plunge about a month ago. At the beginning of October, I ordered the Collier through Goulet Pens ( www.gouletpens.com ). I had it shipped first class mail, and it arrived in less than a week. Brian (Grey) did send me an email thanking me for the purchase, and provided USPS delivery information. Brian (Goulet) sent me an email thanking me for the purchase (From his site) as well.

This is my first Edison Pen! This pen is tremendous! The color is amazing! It is difficult to describe, because it seems that it changes according to the light you are in. It is a brownish, marble-like golden pattern that has a lot of translucence to it. I am a big fan of demo type pens, so this was a gotta have type pen when I saw it!  The price was the standard cost for an Edison production pen with a steel nib ($150). A good value for this level of quality!

The pen is all acrylic, and has a converter/cartridge type filling system. This pen can also be used as an eye-dropper because there is no metal in the feed/barrel. I chose the stainless medium nib for my pen. This is a two-tone, plated nib that has the Edison Logo stamped on the face of the nib. It is a very smooth writer, and puts down a very solid, medium line. I am sure that Brian Grey checks these nibs before they are sent out. Brain has Tuned nibs for me in the past, and he is one of the better nib tweakers!

Customer service at Edison is also taken very seriously. I did have a minor cosmetic issue with the pen when I received it. Brian Grey told me to send it directly back to him, and he did correct the issue with no issues or problems. He also offered to refund me in full if I was still not satisfied with the pen. This attention to detail and satisfaction should impress anyone, and assure them to buy with confidence at Edison!  J

Very nice indeed & a great review. Your right Brian is a first class guy to work with & his pens are just awesome all around. I wish we could get him over here to share some of his thoughts & work.
