flea market grab bag

went to the local flea market and searched around.  found a baggy of pens and pencils, and one wearever FP and two wearever BPs.  my youngest rode my shoulders and was
really good, and my oldest (dinosaur boy) helped me scan for pens.  he was also very interested in swords and knives.  and toys...

some pens and pencils
us govt.  HA!!  i might keep that one.

top two are wearever...
the bottom one is a keeper!  i like the shape of it.

Esterbrook Purse Pen??

Some made in Japan italic...  Chadwick??

wearever with extra fine and over nib collector.

wearever nib.  now i need a cap.  and maybe a new section??  it's cracked a bit.

Chadwick.  Made in Japan?  That's what it says.  Actually, just JAPAN.  At the end of the barrel.  I think it's never been used.  the sac
is crystal clear and there's no evidence of ink anywhere on the feed even.  yep, i pulled it right out.  i was hoping it was an osmiroid when i grabbed
it b/c of the nib shape, but no... oh well.

chadwick pump filler...  fixed to section.

And the gem, if you can call it that.
Esterbrook...

I laughed when I saw this.  Somebody had replaced the nib with a dip nib.  awful shape.   :roflmho:
sadly the section is cracked b/c of it.  any replacements?

the cap is also kind of abused...

Glad you didn't ask for replacement parts for the Esterbrook!!

Reminds me of the axe that my grandfather passes to my father and who later passed it onto me - in all that time we've only had to replace the handle 4 times and the head twice.

An LJ/SJ (thinner) section should work on that pen. They should not be difficult to find. Finding an LJ/SJ cap jewel will be though! You can try Todd (Farmboy) over there, but I know he has a waiting list (I have been on it myself from time to time!).

I did not see the cap, but that is a Wearever Pennant nib/section. If the body is cracked, you can find another pretty easily. You can hold onto that nib/section in the meantime!

sadly i bought the wearever in a bag of pens (everything pictured but the ester and that weird black osimiroid wannabe) and there's no cap. why did i do it? why the nib of course! i thought it looked cool! how stupid. i stuck it in another body so i could write with it, and man... i hate EF nibs. i love nothing more than a medium or even better a big fat juicy bold nib. to draw with, sure, the fine and extra fine have their place, but to doodle or write, i HAVE TO HAVE an M or B. soon i'll have a peli 400 BB. hope i like it. Dennis says it's good. i hope it gets here soon... damn i'm getting antsy!!! hurry up USPS!! smile.gif

but probably my little ester is a lost cause? oh well...

maybe I'll fix it up best I can, but in a 1xxx nib of some sorts, and sell it on ebay with the promis of donating all profit (minus what i paid) to some charity. maybe red cross.... or somebody nationwide that everybody would know about. then we'll see what a beat up ester purse pen with a couple good parts can go for. smile.gif

oh well...
wishful thinking?

later
